Zanzibar Travel Requirements
Zanzibar follows the same visa policy as mainland Tanzania—no separate visa is required. However, starting October 1, 2024, all international visitors to Zanzibar must have mandatory inbound travel insurance purchased through the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) before arrival.
Coverage includes: Medical emergencies, evacuation, and travel-related incidents for up to 92 days. Travelers must apply online and present a QR code at immigration.
